I am amazed the chief was patient enough and took time out of his day for this talk. He probably thought the mom was over the top also. Still a cool thing to do. Plus, he ran the siren on the truck for us!
Let me tell you a story about two boys who enjoyed understanding fire and a mother who was psychotically scared of her boys liking fire. Yes, yes. Fire is not something to be played with, blah blah. But, when the boys played with a 9 volt battery and steel wool after they were given a book about fun science experiments, did they deserve to have to go talk to the fire chief at the Wailuku Fire Department? Probably not. I wonder what story the mother told the chief for him to have that talk with the boys.
