Quite a unique place to visit. Definitely worth the visit! Views you simply can not get anywhere else

We didn't do the full trail, just a bit of the start where you have e a nice view of the bay. It's very peaceful as not too many people were here when we came, so we enjoyed a quiet snack of fresh fruit we purchased in Honokohau Bay. Pretty location, not far from Nakalele Blowhole though the trail will take you there.

What was extra exciting, but also slightly frightening, was the wind and rainstorm that rushed in while we were up there. The view was so breathtaking with the multicoloured sediment and rock juxtaposed with the ocean and sky. We were no longer interested making the rest of the way to the blowhole because this trail had us entranced.

There was a little stand in the parking area on the side of the road called Julia's Banana Bread, but we didn't try them. They were selling banana bread, some drinks, and some fruit.

This trail is poorly marked as a way to see the Nakalele Blowhole, but probably the better way to get there. Follow a deeply rutted dirt road (lots of mud puddles) leading to the east to what suddenly looks like you landed on Mars. Make your way down a lava rock stream bed then bear right. You'll pass lots of people wondering if they are going the right way. Also a minor blow hole and you'll wonder if that's it. ( It isn't) If you haven't found a vent where geysers shoot 30 ft in the air every 60-90 seconds keep going. Wear good shoes too, the cross between muddy paths and slippery rocks can be problematic.

Really neat area, definitely be prepared with sturdy footwear as there are some loose sediment regions as well as rough rocky areas. We initially didn't realize we were on a designated trail as we made our way towards the Nakalele Blowhole.

Great hiking experience. Wonderful views of cliffs and coastline. Very serene.
