My husband and I went to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang last night at the Iao Theater while visiting Maui from UT. It was community theater at it's finest. It was a different side of Maui that everyone should experience. The production was put together well and the actors put their all into the performance. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the car itself, was wonderful! The thing that impressed me the most was the audience. We walked in and it felt like everyone knew everyone else. During the performance the audience was totally into it. They laughed at all the right spots, clapped along with the music with enthusiasm, and seemed to know the actors on stage as well. I've been to a lot of theater in my day and this was the most exciting experience I've had because of the buzz of the audience.
The shows here are wonderful, such amazing talent. They are doing a fabulous job on restoring this 90 year old space. Love coming here
Beautiful & historic smallish theater. Saw a play here and it was fantastic. There was no sound system, but their voices traveled nicely throughout the theater. Seats were comfy and the stage was perfectly positioned.
Awesome experience. Great cast! Can't wait to go again..
